OutsideInside Aquatics is a family-run business based in East Lothian near Edinburgh. The business is dedicated to serving fish keepers of all levels. We have many years of fish keeping experience and pride ourselves in taking time to give all our customers the advice they need.

Our policy is that 'fish come first'. We insist that our fish go to good homes!

Tropical & Cold Water Fish

We have over 90 display tanks containing freshwater fish. Although we focus on interesting community fish there is always something unusual for the rare fish enthusiast. Take a look at our fish list which includes West African Cichlids, South American Cichlids, Barbs, Plecs, Synodontis, South American Catfish and Oddballs. If you really cannot find anything that interests you, we can make specialist orders. We also offer a selection of pond fish in season. All new fish are quarantined.

Aquarium Plants

We actively promote planted aquaria as this not only improves filtration and reduces toxins, it also provides a better environment for fish health and breeding. All our aquarium plants are selected for ease of maintenance. They are best quality, fully rooted and vigorous . We also sell products to promote plant growth.

Pond Plants

Pond plants are on sale from April to the end of August. We stock a large variety of aquatic plants and waterlilies suitable for both formal ponds and wildlife ponds.
We also sell moisture-loving plants for bog gardens. Pond supplies, such as pond
liners, pumps and pond treatments are available throughout the year.
